Foundations: Integrative Trauma Therapy

Therapy that meets you where you are

Integrative trauma therapy combines evidence-based approaches like EMDR, Narrative Therapy, DBT, Gestalt Therapy, and person-centered counseling to support healing, emotional regulation, self-understanding, and meaningful change.

What does this mean in practice?

Growth and change often occur when we are able to look at ourselves, our relationships, and our experiences from different perspectives. Together, we explore the challenges in your life with curiosity, openness, and compassion.

By integrating a range of therapeutic approaches, therapy can respond more fully to the complexity of being human. In practice, this means we can approach challenges from different perspectives — exploring thoughts, emotions, relationships, body sensations, memories, and personal narratives with curiosity and care. Different modalities offer different pathways into healing, helping us untangle patterns, process painful experiences, deepen self-understanding, and reconnect with parts of ourselves that may have been hidden, wounded, or overlooked.

Humans are beautifully and extraordinarily complex.

Modalities

An integrated approach to meet the complexity of who you are

Together, we explore which approaches feel most supportive for you. By integrating different therapeutic modalities, therapy can respond more fully to your experiences, relationships, emotions, and the ways you make meaning in your life.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) - Reprocessing old wounds and beliefs
EMDR helps the brain process painful memories and beliefs that feel stuck. Using bilateral stimulation alongside reflective and relational approaches, we gently work through experiences that continue to shape how you feel, relate, and move through the world.

Narrative Therapy - Understanding your story
Narrative Therapy explores the stories you’ve been told — or have told yourself — about who you are. Together, we examine where those stories came from and whether they still serve you, creating space for a more compassionate and authentic understanding of yourself.

Gestalt Therapy - Expanding awareness
Gestalt Therapy brings awareness to the present moment and the ways thoughts, emotions, relationships, and body sensations interact. Through experiential exercises and dialogue, we explore patterns, protective responses, and different ways of experiencing yourself with greater curiosity and understanding.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - Skills for emotional balance
DBToffers practical skills for managing overwhelming emotions, navigating relationships, and responding to stress with greater awareness. We integrate these tools with deeper reflective work to support emotional balance, self-understanding, and meaningful change.

Person-Centered Therapy - Centering your experience
Person-Centered Therapy allows your pace, priorities, and goals to guide the process. Through empathy, curiosity, and collaboration, we explore your experiences, relationships, identity, and worldview in ways that feel meaningful and supportive to you.

Wherever you are, this is where we begin

You don't need to arrive with clarity about what you need or how therapy should work. Exploring where to go is part of the work itself.

Whatever you are carrying — a painful memory, a pattern that feels hard to shift, or a sense that something important is just out of reach — there is a pathway into it. Together, we find the one that fits.
